Safety certified to the highest global standards, this patent pending wooden bedside crib is made from natural organic materials and sustainably sourced wood. Its’ gently curved ends in natural tones highlight the real grain of this eco-friendly wood. With stunning A-frame accents, its' generous size makes it the perfect choice for baby’s first sleep space.
Is a Mattress Included?

Yes, the Hera Crib comes complete with a superior quality, UK made mattress. Free from harmful chemicals, the mattress features Kidtech foam which provides excellent support and helps to regulate body temperature. The mattress cover is water resistant and washable up to 60 °C.

At Gaia Baby, your baby’s safety comes first, right down to the air they breathe. Our materials are certified to meet and surpass global safety limits for formaldehyde and VOC emissions, ensuring cleaner air and a safer nursery environment.

Formaldehyde & VOCs: While there is currently no compulsory limit in the UK or EU, we choose to meet and exceed the world’s strictest requirements. Australia has the latest and toughest testing standards for formaldehyde (no more than 0.5 ppm). Our materials tested at less than 0.2 ppm, far below the limit.

Other Toxic Elements: All our woods, paints, and finishes are independently tested to exceed all EN,UK & Aus/NZ standards. This ensures they’re free from harmful levels of heavy metals or other toxic compounds.

What age is Hera Crib suitable for?

The Hera Crib is suitable from birth to 6 months.

This is the standard for cribs but not all babies are standard. Your baby will tell you when it is time to move! Signs to look out for are: your baby is beginning to roll-over/ pull-up in the crib or simply has outgrown it.
Will the Hera Crib fit my bed height?

With 5 different height adjustments, the Hera crib fits all parent bed styles from platform to divan style beds (parent mattress height from 56.5 cm up to 70cm). 
How does the base of the Hera Crib work?

Underneath your baby, is a unique perforated double layered base system. 

This patent pending design creates an air cushion under your baby, ensuring 24/7, 360° air circulation for maximum peace of mind. 

For fussy or restless sleepers, the dual base can be easily adjusted with our no-tools, integrated, Reflux setting.
Is the Hera Crib easy to move around?

The crib top lifts easily off the base, which, fitted with castors, makes it super easy to move around the house or from room to room. 
What fabrics are used in the Hera Crib and how easy is it to clean?

The luxurious interior of the crib is finished with a soft organic cotton. The small mesh on the sides is made from 100% polyester.

All interior fabrics can be easily fully removed, and machine washed.
Is it possible to extend the life of the Hera Crib?

Yes! At Gaia Baby, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do and we believe a beautiful piece of wooden furniture like the Hera Bedside Crib should be in your home for a long time.

Our Hera Crib Storage Boxes (sold separately) are the perfect way to use your crib after your baby has grown out of it. Whether it is to use it as a portable laundry basket or toy storage, your Hera Crib goes beyond the first six months of your baby's life.
The wood construction is described as eco-wood, VOC and formaldehyde Safe. Do Gaia Baby use MDF or Chipboard (in each case tested to have safe levels formaldehyde)?

Your baby's safety is our top priority at Gaia Baby. We don’t use any MDF or Chipboard in our furniture and all the materials used conform to and surpass stringent global standards. The Hera Crib is made from Ash, Birch and Beech Ply with an organic cotton removeable/washable liner

You mention that the eco-wood construction and the baby-safe paints/varnishes are certified. Please can you confirm which certificates?

What is the Hera Bedside Crib Mattress made of?

The foam in our Hera Crib Mattress is completely free from PFCs, PFAS, and TCPP. It also does not contain any brominated flame retardants. The foam we use is a polyurethane foam that includes melamine for safety, and no UV additives are used in its production.
Is the Hera Bedside Crib Mattress firm (not soft) so that the baby does not sink in more than a few millimeters?

Yes and fully certified/tested to all UK standards.
Has the Hera Bedside Crib mattress been treated with any flame retardant chemicals (in particular brominated flame retardants)?

Yes, the interior is treated with flame retardants, but they are all acceptable to REACH standard. The mattress itself is not, therefore the sleep surface is very safe.
